On 26 July 2022, Mr. Poj Harnpol, Ambassador of Thailand to Sri Lanka, paid a courtesy call on Dr. Keheliya Rambukweela, Minister of Public Health of Sri Lanka. During the meeting, Ambassador stressed that the Thai government and the Thai people are deeply concerned with current multi-dimensional hardship of Sri Lankan people. This sentiment resulted in a number of contributions in the field of public health to Sri Lanka, including financial donation from the Somdet Phra Nyanasamvara Foundation and donation of medical supplies and medicines from the Government Pharmaceutical Organization and the Department of Disease Control. The Ambassador reiterated that the Royal Thai Embassy is working closely with Thai entities to facilitate further friendly assistance to Sri Lanka. In response, the Minister expressed his sincere appreciation for the help and support rendered by Thailand during the time of crisis. In addition, the Minister shared the overview of Sri Lanka's public health situation and discussed ways to further cooperation between the two countries.
