Phuket Sandbox Travel Guidelines (As of 1 October 2021)

1. Traveller Eligibility (both Thai and Non-Thai nationals)

    1.1 Must travel from permitted countries/areas designated by the Thai Government to enter Phuket Sandbox (Maldives and Sri Lanka are included). Travelers must reside in these eligible countries/areas prior to travel for at least 21 consecutive days (Exception - Thai nationals and non-Thai nationals with residence permit in Thailand may travel from Thailand to a permitted country/area for a short stay and enter Phuket Sandbox upon returning to Thailand.

    1.2 Fully vaccinated against COVID-19 for no less than 14 days before departure with vaccines approved by the Thai government or WHO: AstraZeneca, Sinovac, Johnson&Johnson, Moderna, Sinopharm, Pfizer, CovidShield and Sputnik V** Children under the age of 18, traveling with parents, are eligible without proof of vaccination.

    1.3 Hold a valid health insurance that covers medical expenses including treatments relating to COVID-19, with a minimum of 100,000 USD, throughout the period of stay in Thailand. For more information: https://covid19.tgia.org/

    1.4 Hold a confirmed booking at a hotel in Phuket approved by SHA+ For more information: https://www.thailandsha.com/shalists/ and http://entrythailand.go.th/

    1.5 If a traveller also plans to travel to other parts of Thailand, continuous stay in Phuket or other sandbox areas for at least 7 days is compulsory. Staying in Phuket less than 7 days is possible only if the next destination is outside Thailand.

    1.6 Upon check-in at the airport, a traveler must present an RT-PCR negative test result issued no more than 72 hours.

    1.7 Must take 2 COVID-19 PCR tests during the stay in Phuket (1st test on arrival at the airport, 2nd test on Day 6-7). For those who intend to stay less than 7 days, COVID-19 PCR test must be taken based on the length of your stay. Please contact your hotel for COVID-19 PCT test reservation or make an appointment through Thailand PSAS system https://www.thailandpsas.com/

    1.8 Hold the Certificate of Entry (COE).

    1.9 Must install and allow the use of tracking applications throughout the stay in Phuket.

2. Registration for the Certificate of Entry (COE)

     2.1 Register and submit all required documents via https://coethailand.mfa.go.th 7 days prior to the departure date.

    2.2 Pre-approval: Choose "Yes" for the Sandbox Programme in "Travel Details" section.

    2.3 Fill in personal information and attach proof of vaccination.

    2.4 Final approval: Attach SHA+ confirmed hotel booking, flight tickets and booking of 2 COVID-19 PCR tests in Phuket.

    2.5 Once the COE is approved, print out and carry with yourself throughout the journey.

3. Documents required for travel are as follows:
    3.1 Passport
    3.2 Certificate of Entry (CoE)
    3.3 Air ticket
    3.4 Vaccine certificate/passport
    3.5 COVID-19 RT-PCR negative test result
    3.6 COVID-19 health insurance with minimum coverage of 100,000 USD
    3.7 SHA+ hotel reservation confirmation
    3.8 Proof of payment of COVID-19 testing while in the Sandbox
