The Royal Thai Government contributed the amount of USD 367,550 to the United Nation Development Programme (UNDP) in Sri Lanka

On 22 November 2022, the Royal Thai Government contributed the amount of USD 367,550 to the United Nation Development Programme (UNDP) in Sri Lanka as part of the support to help alleviate humanitarian crisis in Sri Lanka. The contribution will be allocated by the UNDP on developmental projects in Sri Lanka namely Procurement of Maize Seeds and Backyard Poultry Programme.

Earlier this year since April 2022, Thailand both public and private sectors have been continuously providing monetary assistance, medical supplies, and other essential items worth more than LKR 300 million (THB 30 million) to Sri Lanka, reflecting Thailand’s genuine efforts to provide help to a friend in need during this difficult time. Building on centuries of friendship and partnership, Thailand will continue to stand by Sri Lanka during this challenging journey to help Sri Lanka in all possible ways to respond to and recover from the ongoing humanitarian emergencies and difficulties.
