The Royal Thai Embassy in Colombo invited representatives of Halal Accreditation Council (Guarantee) limited -HAC and Sri Lankan businessmen for a study visit in Thailand from 16 - 19 August 2023 with the aim to promote and showcase Thailand’s Halal certification and Halal products. The delegates visited the Central Islamic Council of Thailand and the Halal Science Center Chulalongkorn University and a number of Halal certified factories such as CPF (Thailand) Public Company Limited, KCG Corporation Public Company Limited. In addition, the embassy in collaboration with the Thai-Sri Lanka Chamber of Commerce organized a meeting and a business matching between Thai and Sri Lankan businessmen. The event was a part of the Embassy’s effort to evaluate Sri Lanka’s market and to increase trade and investment between Thailand and Sri Lanka in the advent of the Thai-Sri Lanka Free Trade Agreement (SLFTA) negotiations expected to be completed in 2024.
