The Merit Making Ceremony on the Seventieth Anniversary Celebrations of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej’s Accession

 

                          to the Throne, 9 June 2016

 

                   On the auspicious occasion of “The Seventieth Anniversary of  His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej’s Accession to the Throne” on 9 June 2016, the Royal Thai Embassy in Colombo organized the merit making ceremony at Gangaramaya temple in Colombo on 9 June 2016 at 10.00-12.45 hours.             The Embassy invited Thai nationals including their families who live in Sri Lanka to participate in this merit making ceremony together with the Embassy’s officials.

                       H.E. Nopporn Adchariyavanich, Ambassador of Thailand to Sri Lanka, on behalf of the Thai community in Sri Lanka, took this opportunity               to salute His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej on the Seventieth Anniversary of His Majesty the King’s Accession to the Throne, followed by the chanting and blessing to His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej by 9 monks including Ven.Galboda Gnanissara Thera, the chief-incumbent of Gangaramaya temple.

                        After the religious ceremony, Ambassador Nopporn and Madame together with the Embassy’s officials, the Thai community in Sri Lanka and        their families gave food and necessity offerings to the monks.
