On 16 November 2021, H.E. Mr. Poj Harnpol, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand presented the Letter of Credence to H.E. Mr. Gotabaya Rajapaksa, President of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka, accrediting him as the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Thailand to the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka.

On this occasion, two sides exchanged views on the long-standing cordial relations between Thailand and Sri Lanka, focusing on development cooperation, Bio-Circular-Green Economy (BCG), trade and investment, Buddhism tourism, and COVID-19 response.
