The Royal Thai Embassy in Colombo promotes the exploration of investment opportunities in the energy sector in Sri Lanka

The Royal Thai Embassy in Colombo welcomed the Thai delegation led by Ms. Busadee Santipitaks, Deputy Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs, together with representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand, Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand, PTT Public Company Limited, and Global Power Synergy Public Company Limited. in visiting Sri Lanka during 19 – 24 May 2024. The delegation met with Hon. Kanchana Wijesekera, Minister of Energy as well as Hon. Tharaka Balasuriya, State Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Darshana Perera, Senior Director-General, Southeast Asia & Central Asia Division, along with Ms. Sashikala Premawardhana, Director-General, Southeast Asia & Central Asia Division, as well as Mr. Dinesh Weerakkody, Chairman of the Board of Investment of Sri Lanka and Mr. Ranjith Sepala, Chairman, Sri Lanka Sustainable Energy Authority. The delegation visited the Hayleys Solar as well as the Deduru Oya and Yen Oya Reservoirs, allocated by the Government of Sri Lanka for renewable energy projects.

สถานเอกอัครราชทูต ณ กรุงโคลัมโบ ต้อนรับคณะผู้แทนไทย นำโดยนางสาวบุษฎี สันติพิทักษ์ รองปลัดกระทรวงการต่างประเทศ พร้อมด้วยผู้แทนจากกระทรวงการต่างประเทศ การไฟฟ้าฝ่ายผลิตแห่งประเทศไทย กฟผ. อินเตอร์เนชั่นแนล จำกัด บริษัท ปตท. จำกัด มหาชน บริษัท โกลบอล เพาเวอร์ ซินเนอร์ยี่ จำกัด ในการเดินทางเยือนศรีลังกา ระหว่างวันที่ 19 – 24 พฤษภาคม 2567 โดยคณะได้เข้าพบหารือกับนาย Kanchana Wijesekera รัฐมนตรีว่าการกระทรวงพลังงาน และนาย Tharaka Balasuriya รัฐมนตรีช่วยว่าการกระทรวงการต่างประเทศศรีลังกา รวมทั้งนาย Darshana Perera อธิบดีอาวุโส กรมเอเชียตะวันออกเฉียงใต้และเอเชียกลาง พร้อมด้วยนางสาว Sashikala Premawardhana อธิบดีกรมเอเชียตะวันออกเฉียงใต้และเอเชียกลาง ตลอดจนนาย Dinesh Weerakkody ประธานคณะกรรมการส่งเสริมการลงทุนศรีลังกา และนาย Ranjith Sepala ประธานการพลังงานที่ยั่งยืนศรีลังกา จากนั้นได้เยี่ยมชมกิจการบริษัท Hayleys Solar รวมทั้งเขื่อน Deduru Oya และ Yan Oya ซึ่งรัฐบาลศรีลังกาได้จัดสรรให้เป็นที่สำหรับการลงทุนในโครงการพลังงานหมุนเวียน
