On 21 December 2019, H.E. Mrs.Chulamanee Chartsuwan, the Ambassador of Thailand to Sri Lanka, handed over a donation in the amount of 298,151 LKR (50,000 Baht) to Mrs. Nirmalie Gunatilake, President of the Society during the Executive Committee’s Meeting of the Society. The donation will help to support the undertaking of various activities under the Society in the year 2020.

Sri Lanka – Thailand Society was founded in 1997 (B.E.2540) by a group of Sri Lankan people, who are considered friends of Thailand, mostly Sri Lankan businessmen and retired senior officials. The Society has continuously played a role in organizing activities to promote relations between the Sri Lankan and Thai communities in Sri Lanka. Recent activities undertaken by the Society include the annual Thai Night, and merit making ceremonies on auspicious occasions relating to the Thailand.
