“Bike for Dad” in Colombo

 

                  The Royal Thai Embassy in Colombo organized the “Bike for Dad” activity in the afternoon of 11 December 2015 at the Arcade Independence Square. 170 participants from the Thai community in Sri Lanka and the Sri Lankan people who are friends of Thailand joined the bike riding with the Embassy’s staff.

 

                     To begin the activity, H.E. Nopporn Adchariyavanich, the Ambassador of Thailand to Sri Lanka After paid homage to His Majesty the King Bhumibol Adulyadej of Thailand. After that, H.E. Nopporn Adchariyavanich led a bike rally from the Arcade Independence Square and turned left to Maitland Place, passed Colombo cricket ground, turned left to Independence avenue and came back to       the Arcade for 2 rounds with a 3.4-kilometre loop.

 

                      The “Bike for dad” is the first-ever bike rally organized by the Royal Thai Embassy in Colombo.  This event aimed at inviting Thai people both in the country and around the globe to ride bicycles on 11 December to express their love and gratitude to His majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej of Thailand on the auspicious occasion of the 88th birth anniversary of His Majesty the King.  Thai citizens in 66 countries joined their country fellows in Thailand in the “Bike for Dad” activity on the same day.
