                           The merit-making ceremony on the occasion of

                                the hundredth day after the passing away of

                         H.M. late King Bhumibol Adulyadej of Thailand

 

                            The Royal Thai Embassy in Colombo organized the merit-making  ceremony on the occasion of the hundredth day after the passing away                    of H.M.late King Bhumibol Adulyadej of Thailand on 20 January 2017 at Kelaniya Rajamahaviharaya.

                           At 10.20 hours H.E. Nopporn Adchariyavanich, Ambassador of Thailand to Sri Lanka paid homage to the Buddha statue and the portrait of                    H.M. late King Bhumibol Adulyadej, followed by religious ceremony performed by 4 monks, led by Ven.Prof.Kollupitiye Mahinda Sangharakkhita,                 Chief incumbent of the temple.When the monks finished chanting, Ambassador delivered a speech to salute H.M. late King Bhumibol Adulyadej,                   followed by giving food and necessity offerings to 12 monks. 

          Ven.Dr.Deniyaye Pannaloka Buddharakkhita, deputy chief monk was the representative of the temple gave a remarks and paid tribute to H.M.late King Bhumibol Adulyadej, and invited Ambassador to pour the water to transfer merit to H.M. late King Bhumibol Adulyadej, The ceremony ended around 11.30 hours.
