On 7 February 2022 H.E. Mr. Poj Harnpol, Ambassador of Thailand to Sri Lanka, paid a courtesy call on H.E. Mr. Namal Rajapaksa, Minister of Youth and Sports of Sri Lanka. During the meeting, the two sides discussed ways and means to advance cooperation in the areas of youth and sports between the two countries. The Ambassador highlighted benefits of Muay Thai in various dimensions, and sought the Minister’s support in identifying organizations to help promote Muay Thai in Sri Lanka. In turn, the Minister shared the Sri Lankan’s plans for the development of youth and sports, such as the promotion of Sri Lanka as a training center for water sports, and the organization of the upcoming world youth forum to be held in November 2022, in order to serve as a platform to build an international youth network, with an emphasis on deliberation of key issues in the new normal era, such as green economy, renewable energy, digital currency, blockchain, etc.
