Discover Thailand’s mid-century modern heritage at the photographic exhibition Design Thai: Architecture of the Modern Movement in Thailand, 1960s–1980s, on view at Siam Nivasa Colombo from December 9th, 2025 to January 9th, 2026 from 10am to 5pm.

Featuring photography by Weerapon Singnoi (Foto_momo) and curated by Pirasri Povatong, the exhibition showcases Thai buildings created during the same architectural era in which the building that today houses Siam Nivasa was constructed.

Siam Nivasa itself has a humble yet meaningful story — first a private medical clinic in the 1960s and 1970s, later transformed into the chancery of the Royal Thai Embassy in Colombo in the 1980s and 1990s, and now reimagined as an art, culture, and community space that symbolically connects Thailand and Sri Lanka.
