On 8 August 2023, the ASEAN missions in Sri Lanka (Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, Thailand, and Vietnam) co-hosted the 56th ASEAN Day Commemoration at the premises of the Embassy of Indonesia in Colombo. 

 

The event was graced by the presence of H.E. Mr. Ranil Wickremesinghe, President of Sri Lanka, as well as high-level dignitaries of the Sri Lankan Government, ambassadors and diplomatic corps and representatives from the public and private sectors in Sri Lanka. 

 

There will also be a series of events in September to commemorate the 56th anniversary of the establishment of ASEAN this year.
