On 20 December 2021, the Royal Thai Embassy in Colombo organized a tree-planting activity at the Viharamahadevi Park, Colombo, on the occasion of the Birthday Anniversary of His Majesty the Late King Bhumibol Adulyadej The Great, the National Day, and Father’s Day, 5 December 2021. His Excellency Poj Harnpol, Ambassador of Thailand to Sri Lanka, together with officials from the Royal Thai Embassy and board members of the Sri Lanka-Thai Society joined hands in the planting of Na tree (Ironwood Tree Mesua ferra)  and Kuru Pihimbiya plant. On the occasion, Mr. M. T. M. Iqbal, Deputy Mayor of Colombo, and Mrs. Roshanie Dissanayake, Municipal Commissioner, also participated in the event.
