On 1 July 2012, H.E. Mr. Poldej Worachat visitedThaiPhraPathomchediTemple-Sri Lanka(Thai –Sri LankaBuddhistCulturalCenter) in Heiyanthuduwa. The temple, headed by Venerable Rassagala Seewali Thero, has close link withPhraPathomchediTempleinNakorn Pathom,Thailand, who contributed to the construction of the Uposathagaraya of the Thai –Sri LankaBuddhistCulturalCenter, which is the first Thai-style Uposathagaraya inSri Lanka.

The center has organised activities to promote Buddhism inSri Lanka, especially by running weekend dhamma classes for Sri Lankan children. On that date, around 500 of students, volunteer teachers and parents came to give a warm welcome and exchanged views with Ambassador Worachat informally in a warm atmosphere.
