Royal Thai Embassy gave donation to Gunananda Vidhayalaya, Colombo.

                On 15 January 2018, at the Royal Thai Embassy, Colombo, H.E. Mrs. Chulamanee Chartsuwan, Thai Ambassador to Sri Lanka, handed over a donation of 233,972.86 Sri Lankan Rupee or equivalent to 50,000 baht  from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand to Gunananda Vidhyalaya School through Mr. S. Withana Pathirana, Principal of Gunananda Vidhyalaya School, in the presence of  the Most Ven. Waskaduwe  Mahindawansa Maha Nayaka Thero, the Chief Incumbent of Dipaduttamarama Thai Raja Maha Viharaya.

                The Gunananda Vidhyalaya School was established by Prince Prisdang of Thailand, who was ordained in Sri Lanka and later became the Chief Incumbent of Dipaduttamarama Temple. The temple and school have long historical importance in the bilateral relations between Thailand and Sri Lanka. This financial contribution will be used for the purchase of school equipment to support the teaching at Gunananda Vidhyalaya School.
