On 31 January 2023, H.E. Mr. Poj Harnpol, Ambassador of Thailand to Sri Lanka and the Maldives, met H.E Mr. Ahmed Latheef, Foreign Secretary of the Maldives, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Maldives. 
Both sides discussed ways to strenghten the bilateral cooperation between the two countries, such as trade and investment promotion, exchange program and training courses for public and private personel, and following up on the progress of negotiations on MoUs and agreements..
On this occasion, Ambassador expressed appreciation to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Maldives for help and support in monitoring and protecting Thai nationals in the Maldives and reiterated the importance the embassy attach to in supporting Thai Nationals in the Maldives.
