          On 31 October 2021, H.E. Mr. Poj Harnpol, Ambassador-Designate of Thailand to Sri Lanka, attended the annual ceremony of Katina Cheevara offering in commemoration of His Majesty the late King Rama V, King Chulalongkorn of Thailand at Sri Paramananda Raja Maha Vihara in Galle. The ceremony was led by Venerable Mederipitiye Somarathana Thero, Chief Incumbent of the temple, who administered a congregation of 40 monks and around 100 local residents. On this occasion, the Ambassador-Designate of Thailand offered new robes for the monks and visited historical sites of the temple such as Chulalongkorn Dharmasala, and the temple museum, which displays original letter from King Mongkut and the ancient Tipitaka set given to the temple by King Chulalongkorn.
