The Royal Thai Embassy in Colombo organized a school lunch and made donation to underprivileged children on the occasion of the Coronation of King Rama X

On 28 May 2019, the Royal Thai Embassy in Colombo organized a school lunch for underprivileged children at Sri Gunananda Vidyala School, Colombo 13. Ambassador Chulamanee Chartsuwan and her spouse, Mr. Vichai Chartsuwan, presided over the event, which is attended by officials from the Royal Thai Embassy, Thai Airways Office in Colombo, and members of the Thai community in Colombo. Over 60 students currently enrolled in the school participated in the event. In addition to hosting the school lunch, the Embassy also made donation of English books to the school for the purpose of setting up an English library for students. Cash donation from the Thai community in Sri Lanka and Sri Lanka - Thailand Society in the amount of 83,000 Sri Lankan Rupees and 100 US Dollars, as well as some study materials, were also presented to the school.

Sri Gunananda Vidyala School is a primary school located next to the Dipaduttamarama Temple. It was founded by Prince Prisdang, while ordained as a Buddhist monk in Sri Lanka, and assumed the position of the Chief Incumbent of the Temple. Currently, around 70 underprivileged children enroll in the school.
