On 27 July 2017, the Royal Thai Embassy organised a merit-making ceremony as a tribute to the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej and to bless Her Majesty Queen Sirikit of the Ninth Reign as well as His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn Bodindradebayavarangkun on the occasion of his 65th birthday anniversary at Jayasekararamaya Temple. The ceremony commenced at 18.00 hrs. Phrakru Khuntisaranukul led Buddhist monks in chanting holy stanzas. Then, H.E. Mrs. Chulamanee Chartsuwan, Thai  Ambassador to Sri Lanka, her spouse, together with officials from the Royal Thai Embassy, Team Thailand and the Thai community gave offerings to 6 monks. The ceremony ended at 18.30 hrs. Around 20 participants including officials from the Royal Thai  Embassy, Team Thailand, Friends of Thailand, Thai people, who live in Colombo and nearby areas, attended the ceremony.

On 28 July 2017, the Royal Thai Embassy arranged a morning alms round at the Ambassador’s residence to dedicate the merit to the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej and to blessHer Majesty Queen Sirikit of the Ninth Reign as well as His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn Bodindradebayavarangkun on the occasion of his 65th birthday anniversary. The ceremony started at 07.45 hrs. with H.E. Mrs. Chulamanee lighting candles to worship the Buddha, paying respect to the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej, Her Majesty Queen Sirikit of the Ninth Reign as well as His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn Bodindradebayavarangkun and delivering the congratulatory speech for His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn Bodindradebayavarangkun on the occasion of his 65th birthday anniversary. Then, 5 monks chanted holy stanzas to bless His Majesty King Vajiralongkorn Bodindradebayavarangkun. H.E. Mrs. Chulamanee, her spouse, together with officials from the Royal Thai Embassy, Team Thailand and the Thai community gave food and offerings to 5 monks.  After the religious ceremony ended at 08.45 hrs. , the Royal Thai Embassy invited Thai people to sign the book of blessing on auspicious occasion of His Majesty the King 65th birthday anniversary.  Around 30 participants including officials from the Royal Thai Embassy, Team Thailand and Thai people attended the ceremony.
